Watching Joe Biden and Donald Trump revive their 2020 rivalry during Thursday night’s debate proved that neither of them are capable of doing what Shrek has — giving us a good sequel. For the record, we’re positive Lucille Bluth would utter her classic line “I don’t understand the question, and I won’t respond to it,” if a QR code was even mentioned in her presence. But seeing her go through all that rigamarole to order a glass of pinot grigio with a single ice cube would be a sensational Arrested Development subplot.
Giving Emily Gilmore or Livia Soprano a piece of paper to be scanned with a smartphone, however, is unconscionable.
