29 Mandela Effect Memories That Are Driving People Nuts

The Mandela Effect is a phenomenon so intense that it warrants its own name, even though the phrase “false memory” already exists. Regardless of what we call it, though, there’s always going to be someone online insisting that Mickey Mouse used to wear suspenders, or that Hannibal Lecter says “Hello, Clarice” in Silence of the Lambs

Those things aren’t true, and finding that out can make us examine literally everything we thought we knew. Okay, it’s not that extreme, but Redditors have falsely remembered the things they thought they knew, and learning that the Raisin Bran sun never wore sunglasses is scaring me. I need a moment alone.

notforyou92 2y ago Britney Spears, 'Oops I Did it Again' she isn't wearing a headset. Toys and costumes with the red outfit always have a headset. In the video you can clearly see her adjust a headset that doesn't exist. Or in 'Baby One More Time' she was wearing a plaid skirt... I guess it's solid black?? 196 ...

Nowhereman50 3y ago I could swear in early 2000 that James Earl Jones died. This was later confirmed for me when Battlefront 2 came out and the voice for Vader was absolutely terrible. When Rogue One came out I was shocked at how good the fake Peter Cushing looked and assumed there was some other kind of movie magic for Vader's spot-on voice. Little did I know it was actually James Earl Jones doing the voice of Vader in Rogue One and he is alive and well. 143 ...

sannoel2 3y ago In Brazil during 9/11, a lot of kids remember watching dragon ball where Goku was using genki dama to defeat Majin Buu and suddenly pausing the episode to show 9/11. 3y ago In my research the most shocking example is that an insane amount of people recall that the torch of the Statue of Liberty was closed to visitors after the 9/11 attacks, when in fact it had been closed since the Black Tom Explosion way back in 1916. I count myself among the people who were absolutely positive it was after 9/11. 237 ...
Roving_Rhythmatist 3y ago The Tinker Bell thing frustrates me. I have clear memories of her waving her wand at the Disney castle and fireworks exploding around it. I have been told that there is no footage of this in existence, but I remember it. skja0628 3y ago I do a fair amount of transcription work as a part of my job, logging specific statements that were made.
