Is hosting SNL really that bad? According to Reese Witherspoon, the experience was overwhelming.
On the Armchair Expert podcast, she revealed to Dax Shepard that thanks to anxiety she “completely left her body,” adding that “it was just too much responsibility for a 24-year-old girl.”
Reese isn’t the only one who dreaded the experience. Elon Musk, Patrick Stewart, Louise Lasser, and William Shatner also had their share of awkward moments. From cringey opening monologues to lame Star Trek jokes and rambling speeches about unhappiness, the show has truly seen it all.
Not only the hosts had a hard time on Saturday Night Live. Larry David only lasted one season on the sketch show. He later became one of TV’s most famous comedic performers, making fans wonder why he never appeared on the show back in the ‘80s.
Well, as publicist Danny Deraney recently pointed out, David had a small, audio-only cameo on SNL back in 1984. In the bit, he interrupted host Michael McKean’s monologue to make a quick joke — and that was it.
Hosting a big comedy show isn’t for everyone, but Twitter is full of people who think they can. Today’s funniest posts involve a dramatic gamer-mom meltdown, AI screen protectors and unnecessarily fancy paperweights.
