It’s the end of the week, and we’re thinking about the end of Jon Stewart’s Daily Show contract.
Stewart is nearing the end of his once-a-week hosting gig, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be back. Though he previously claimed he isn’t relevant enough to be in the White House’s crosshairs, Stewart’s return to late night has come with higher viewership and consisted of the kind of comedy Trump and friends have typically put a squash to.
Elsewhere, Ashley Padilla says one thing will always be relevant: farts. The SNL cast member spoke about last week’s fart bit, and explained that while some people are tired of flatulence, gas is funnier than ever. “We live in a culture that constantly needs and wants to be perceived as ‘put together,’” she explained. “We are constantly in control of our image. Constantly in control of how others look at us. So how funny is it, that you can do your makeup, curl your hair, be the hottest bitch in the fucking world and then a horn sound, with the stench of feces, can come out of your butt within the matter of one second and ruin the entire thing. That is what I find funny.”
