Before South Park was even a twinkle in their eyes, Trey Parker and Matt Stone were pissing off their teachers with their Eric Cartman impressions.
In the commentary track for South Park’s pilot episode, the pair reflected on their time at the University of Colorado Boulder, and admitted to frequently disrupting class with early versions of their characters’ voices. “Trey and I would always get thrown out of class, because we did this one stupid voice that basically sounded like Stan and Kyle, or Cartman,” Stone said.
While Parker and Stone committed to the bit, Loren Bouchard recently shared how he’s committed to bringing more emotional storylines to the Belcher family. “It’s really nice to be able to do these episodes that feel a little heavier,” Bouchard said ahead of the show’s Season 16 premiere. “They have a little more oomph to ’em. We don’t do it casually.”
