Katy Perry may have failed at shooting for the moon with her latest record, which earned scathing reviews, but the pop star-turned-American Idol judge-turned-internet-laughingstock is doing her damndest to land among the stars — literally.
On Monday, the “Teenage Dream” singer will venture into space alongside five other women — including Gayle King and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée/Mark Zuckerberg’s eye candy, Lauren Sánchez — as a part of Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission. Though this is the first all-female flight since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s historic 1963 solo mission, one Twitter user doubts feminism has much to do with Perry’s participation in the Bezos-backed trip. “Album flopped so bad they sending this bitch off the planet,” @erenfromtargets joked.
The intentions fueling Perry’s space flight may remain between the singer, Bezos’ checkbook and God, but she was just one of many that the Timeline roasted this week.
