Fans of J.D. and Turk may have reservations about their favorite characters scrubbing back in for work, but Bill Lawrence doesn’t share those concerns. The Scrubs creator assured the L.A. Times that the reboot wouldn’t be a “mailed-in cash grab” that would “tarnish” the first go-around. Lawrence revealed that the show’s original writers and a “bunch of new writers” would be coming together to bring something special to life.
But in the event that the reboot does flop, Lawrence still calls it a “no-lose” situation. He explained that if fans are anything like him and the show is great, they’ll be “super happy.” Meanwhile, if it sucks, they’ll be “super happy to badmouth how much it sucks.”
Over on the Sony lot, CEO Tony Vinciquerra doesn’t understand how any of the Spider-Man spin-offs became such big losers. The film exec admitted that Kraven the Hunter was arguably “the worst launch” that Sony Pictures has had in nearly a decade, which left him confused, considering that he thinks “the film is not a bad film.” Vinciquerra stated that, moving forward, Sony will rethink its “snakebitten” strategy before putting out another Spideyverse film, because “no matter how good or bad it is,” it’s still likely to receive the Morbius treatment.
Thankfully, the timeline is back to business today. Today’s funniest tweets include those about a baby cousin who’s all grown up, an enchanting backyard bar and a haunting dad joke.
