Looks like Jack Black is joining the likes of Jeremy Strong and Austin Butler by going full method for his next role. The Kung Fu Panda actor dove headfirst into the deeply strange and pixelated world of Minecraft ahead of his part in the upcoming live-action adaptation. Black told IGN that he has “literally been exclusive to Minecraft for the last month and a half.” That’s right: “All Minecraft, all the time.” This isn’t the actor’s first time booting up the open-world game either. Meanwhile, Bill Hader is indeed trading in Barry’s gun for The Cat’s red and white striped hat in Warner Bros. Animation’s The Cat in the Hat — and he won’t be up to the Seussified adventures alone. The new take on an old classic, which is slated for a 2026 release, will feature an all-star cast of some of the buzziest names in comedy, including Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, former SNL writer Paula Pell, What We Do in the Shadows’ Matt Berry, and the God of Dicks himself, Bowen Yang.
