28 Wild Family Secrets People Accidentally Found Out

When people discover their family’s dark secret, usually it has something to do with sex. Secret kids, secret affairs, secret siblings, secret gay relationships and even secret incest. At least, those were the kinds of stories I was reading in a Reddit thread.

But then, amidst dozens of stories related to scandalous matters, one Redditor shared the following: “My Aunty did in fact have my dad's vinyl copy of ‘Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.’ They've been arguing about it since the 70s.” 

I love that this qualifies as a deep, dark family secret, and I especially love that this argument has raged on for half a century. It’s the kind of petty feud that almost makes me hopeful about mankind, whereas all of the other stories below make me think we’re hopeless as a species.
