21 Hilariously Mean Burns About Brian Cox’s Leather Pants
While the dual strikes are finally over, it seems that stylists might be the next Hollywood entity on strike… or at least Brian Cox’s is. The Scottish actor and Succession patriarch took to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and bared his spirit, soul, and ankles. As the Emmy-winning actor detailed the story behind accidentally ending up on Prime Video’s new James Bond-themed reality competition, it was hard to focus on anything other than his wardrobe—particularly what was going on below the belt.
The Scotsman, who comes from a long line of men who are known to make fashion choices that go against the grain, appeared on the late night show wearing leather pants in the most unflattering shade of brown imaginable. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with a man in leather pants (in fact, more men should be making the daring choice) it is important to pay attention to the fit. Perhaps Cox wanted to show off the beautiful pair of horsebit loafers by Jersey-based shoesmith Blackstock & Weber that capped off his outfit (which would explain why the ill-fitting pants rise to his shins). Whatever the case may be and whatever explanation his stylist has, this attempt to get a fire fit off fell completely flat and honestly borders on elder abuse. It’s an outfit that leaves you wondering what combination of slurs Logan Roy would say if he could see it.
While we hope the outfit is a one-off misfire, it piqued the interest of Twitter’s rudest users, with everyone chiming in to roast the sartorial choice. As scathing as many of them may be, Cox is very lucky that Joan Rivers is no longer with us to join the chorus.
