It seems like there's a dirty word in Hollywood these days, and it's not (just) “brightness” or “rehab.” It’s “original.” With absolutely zero of the 20 top-grossing films of the decade not being based on an existing intellectual property, it's clear that Hollywood has run screaming from new ideas.
