As December comes to an end, many are reflecting on what the last 12 months brought them. But others are going even bigger and thinking about all the things that have led them to this very moment in life. For instance, Ricky Gervais took some time to remember “one of the best days” of his career. The comedian, who is used to hurling insults, fondly recalled the time he was called a “funny little fat man” by the legendary David Bowie during a 2006 episode of Extras. 

Mike Myers also took a walk down memory lane, and he’s very glad that he didn’t trust his initial instinct about Shrek. Earlier this month, he told Vulture that his biggest reservation about the project was the name Shrek itself, which Myers said was “the worst fucking title” he’d ever heard. He described it as the “sound you make after drinking too many Molson Canadians.” But millions of dollars later, with a new sequel in progress, it’s clear that the name goes down smoothly after all.

Meanwhile, the gang over at Sesame Street is going to be spending the next year looking for a new home. Episodes of the children’s classic will be available to stream on Max through 2027, but Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav is kicking those precious muppets to the curb by opting out of a contract renewal for new installments. Per a Max spokesperson, the decision came down to prioritizing “stories for adults and families.”
