Vintage Christmas Cards For Your Worst Enemy

Tis the season

Before AI could create images of anything like it's nothing, we had Photoshop. But before that, there were other creative ways to make surreal images, and we're talking about the 1930s.

Christmas cards were a great opportunity to gather the family together under a special theme, but people didn't have much say in what the cards were going to look like. It was all left to chance and the skill of the editor. And since it wasn't a super common thing, there weren't any trends people would follow. So, everybody would come up with a ridiculous idea, just to make sure it was impossible for the picture to be real. Some were better than others, but here are vintage Christmas cards for your worst enemy.

Don't run with scissors, and also don't do this.

You don't need Photoshop to make art.

What's the message here?

The baby wasn't consulted.

Candle Family

The possibilities were endless, apparently.

Not the best picture for the festivities, but okay.

Not really a card, but a powerful Christmas message in times of war.

Hugo and the Boys

What's wrong with them?

Tiny People

That's how Christmas trees are decorated.

Are Freddy and Pat okay?

The pets were always part of these, whether they liked it or not.

That's actually adorable.

You can tell there's something she's keeping to herself.
