Pop culture has a funny way of transforming things. You know the song, “Pop Goes the Weasel?” Of course you do; you probably sang it at preschool with your friends. It was a funny, little nursery rhyme back then. But nowadays, the tune comes off as way creepier and more ominous becuase of its association with jack-in-the-boxes, which have in turn been used to ellicit dread and suspense all throughout pop culture. The song is most notably used in horror video game Five Nights at Freddy's as well as the 2014 thriller Deliver Us From Evil. Perhaps you, too, will find yourself transformed after perusing this collection of pop culture nuggets.
