Not long ago, I met a guy who had been a “Puppet Wrangler” on Sesame Street. While that might sound like he had to lasso Cookie Monster after an Oreo binge, a puppet wrangler is someone who takes care of puppets and prepares them for shows. They’re basically hair, makeup, wardrobe and maintenance all in one for puppets, but when the job gods created this position, they decided to use a word that makes someone sound like a puppet cowboy.

I didn’t know that job existed until I met him, and it turns out there are plenty of other strange jobs out there, as evidenced by Redditors’ responses.
