The tension between Marc Maron and Louis C.K. is gone, but they’re still not going to die on any hills together.
In a recent conversation with Esquire, Maron looked back at one of the more monumental episodes he recorded — a discussion with C.K. about their troubled friendship. While the episode helped them address the past and smooth things over, Maron admitted he later felt betrayed by the sexual assault allegations C.K. faced, which caused yet another rift between them.
“I think the tagline on (the later podcast episode) was like, you know, he lied to me about the depth of this situation,” Maron told Esquire. “I don’t even know if he listened to it, but I wasn’t willing, nor was anybody really, to go down with him or to die on that hill with him in terms of defending his behavior.”
Speaking of comedy rifts, Eric Idle and John Cleese are at it once again, and this time, a fan was caught in the middle of all their squabbling. After someone posted an innocent tweet about their favorite Monty Python sketch, Idle and Cleese started bickering over the sketch being scrapped from a 2009 stage show, prompting the fan to beg them to stop fighting. They did stop, but it certainly won’t be long before they start up again.
Meanwhile, everyone else on Twitter was busy being funny. This week’s best tweets included those about bumming a scroll, incredible rizz and the feeling of every single day.
