This week, Tig Notaro talked about both her friendship and her podcast with Cheryl Hines ending over Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s conspiratorial beliefs and political views, explaining that it got harder when he endorsed Trump.
While Notaro mourns the friendship, she couldn’t sit by as Hines’ husband got more and more political. “When he was announcing his run, I just felt like I needed to step away because there are beliefs that were like a gnat on the arm years ago that were getting further into the spotlight.”
“It’s not my world. It’s a hard path,” she continued. “You’re okaying a particular ride for this country to go on.”
Meanwhile, George Clooney has no qualms about supporting South Park’s political rampage, and the actor bears some responsibility for the series being on air today. “I saw it on a VCR, and I kept sending it out to the guys at Comedy Central. Eventually, they gave the guys a job there,” Clooney told Deadline. “I just thought they were funny, and I didn’t really think they were going to be standard bearers for democracy and free speech.”
Over on Twitter, people are exercising their right to free speech by posting hilarious tweets. Today’s funniest include those about dog mode, what to do after a bad date and a grandma giving two thumbs up.
