36 of the Funniest Tweets About the Impending Rapture

‘If you’re in line for the Rapture, STAY IN LINE’

If you see roughly 144,000 Christians floating off the ground and shooting upwards toward heaven today, don’t panic: That’s just the rapture going as planned.

For weeks now, some far-right Christians have touted September 23rd as the beginning of the end times, citing claims from South Africa’s Joshua Mhlakela, who prefers not to be referred to as a pastor, but says that Jesus Christ visited him in a dream to tell him the apocalypse would soon be upon us, as their source. “On the 23rd and the 24th of September 2025, I will come to take my church,” Mhlakela said of his chat with the big man upstairs during a podcast appearance last June

Of course, Mhlakela’s method of “just trust me, bro,” didn’t dissuade radical TikTokers and Twitter users from hopping on the apocalypse bandwagon, and some believers have sold their cars, quit their jobs and offered tips for getting hoisted up to heaven

In classic fashion, the rest of the internet saw a golden opportunity to make some of the funniest jokes imaginable. “My mom says she can drop us off at the rapture if your mom can pick us up,” one Twitter user wrote, while another urged folks to be patient with our unfolding Judgment Day. “If you’re in line for the Rapture, STAY IN LINE!” they joked.

So, for as long as we have left on this earth, let’s spend our time laughing at these hysterical rapture-related tweets.
