‘Just a few more hours of scrolling and then I will finally know’

South Park wasn’t nominated for any Emmy Awards last night, but that doesn’t mean Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s series didn’t get any flowers.

Television Academy Chairman Chris Abrego took a moment to honor the animated series and several other groundbreaking television shows last night, name-dropping South Park alongside shows like RootsWill & Grace and The Handmaid’s Tale while advocating for the newly-defunded Corporation for Public Broadcasting. “They shape our culture, and in times of culture regression, they remind us of what’s at stake and what can still be achieved,” Abrego argued.

Stephen Colbert also put his (very limited) time at the podium to good, albeit surprising use, explaining how The Late Show, which will conclude next spring, has long embodied his love for the United States. “At a certain point, I realized that we were doing a late-night comedy show about loss,” Colbert said, adding that “sometimes you only truly know how much you love something when you get a sense that you might be losing it.” “Ten years later, in September 2025, my friends, I have never loved my country more desperately.”

Much like Colbert, we feel strongly about these hysterical tweets. Today’s funniest include those about glitching Neuralinks, Scooby-Doo sandwiches and Benny Safdie’s latest role.
