The late John Candy won’t be reprising his role as Barf in Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money, but co-writer Josh Gad is positive that the comic’s presence will still be felt throughout the upcoming sequel. 

“Our movie, in many ways, is a tribute to John,” Gad, who is rumored to play Barf’s son in the new movie, recently said of Candy. “If you’re a fan of the first one, you’re going to, I think, be very happy with what we’re doing.”
