Ellen DeGeneres’ former TV staffers gave her a much different nickname than “Queen of Nice.”

Comedian and ex-Ellen Show writer Greg Fitzsimmons refused to mince words about working under DeGeneres, recounting his “rough” stint on the daytime talker. “I did the first two years on that show,” he remembered. “She was the c-word.” 

The same, however, cannot be said of late Growing Pains star Alan Thicke. Former child star Jeremy Miller recently explained how Thicke helped him find work while he was on “the brink of homelessness” after losing his catering business during the 2008 economic crisis. “‘Hey, Al, I’m really struggling. Do you know anybody who might…?’ And that’s all I had to say,” Miller remembered of his TV dad, who connected him with “all his restaurateur friends” during his job search.
