Though former McDonald’s higher-up Tom Ryan spearheaded several fast-food classics like the McGriddle and the ice cream enigma that is the McFlurry, Rick and Morty fans only acknowledge the saucy part of his legacy. 

During a recent conversation with Cracked, the ex-chief marketing officer talked about one of his most legendary creations, the Mulan Szechuan Sauce made famous by Rick’s undying nostalgia for it in Season Three. “I’ve done a lot of things with iconic revenue value in the marketplace, but a Rick and Morty resurrected dipping sauce tied to a Disney movie? I find it very funny that this thing has the life that it has,” he explained of the condiment’s enduring appeal. 

Meanwhile, on the golf course, Adam Sandler is reflecting on the enduring appeal of his 1996 film, Happy Gilmore. Despite its classic status and its new Netflix sequel, Sandler admitted that he wasn’t always sure the film would resonate with audiences. “We were just like, ‘Oh no, we can’t release this movie, man,’” Sandler recalled of his chat with co-writer Tim Herlihy ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut. “Caddyshack is the golf comedy, what the hell are we doing?”
