Though birthdays are usually celebrated with cake, presents and bottles of champagne so expensive that you begin to believe the entire sparkling wine industry is a scam, Hello Kitty decided to take a new approach in celebrating puppy pal Pompompurin’s 29th on Wednesday: posting his entire cartoon asshole on main. 

“Happy birthday to the sweetest pup, Pompompurin!” the famous not-feline captioned an image of her and her golden retriever pal, whose butt was facing the camera. Naturally, fans flocked to the comments section with a whole lot of questions.

“Did he need to show hole for the pic tho?” asked one Twitter user, while another denounced the snap as “just nasty and classless.”

The five-apples-tall icon and her animated pals weren’t the only ones getting roasted this week, however — other scathing burns took aim at Norwegian food, self-described “people pleasers” and a deadbeat dad president.
