John Mulaney is officially up next on Netflix.
The comedian made an appearance at the streamer’s “Next on Netflix” event to reveal that his upcoming talk show, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, will start its 12-week run on March 12th. Mulaney described the variety show as the go-to place “where you could see Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting next to Nikki Glaser sitting next to a family therapist with music by Mannequin Pussy.” According to the comedian, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what to expect, and that “not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
Mulaney’s not the only person in showbiz moving forward without a “specific plan” either. Mira Sorvino tweeted that a Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion sequel is “(unofficially) a go at 20th Century.” The news was first shared by The Hollywood Reporter, which revealed that Sorvino and co-star Lisa Kudrow are in talks to serve as executive producers and reprise their roles from the 1997 cult classic. The misadventures that await Romy and Michele at their 40th reunion will be devised by Robin Schiff, who also wrote the original film.
