46 of the Funniest Burns from the Week of December 23, 2024

This week, Adam Sandler took to Twitter to wish his followers not just happy holidays, but more importantly, a Happy Gilmore to all. His festive cheer was accompanied by a first look at the Happy Gilmore sequel nearly 30 years in the making. The teaser doesn’t provide much context storywise, but it does offer a glimpse of Sandler’s titular golfer, something strange going on with Christopher McDonald’s Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen back as Virginia Venit, who announces that things have “only just begun.” 

The promo trailer also teased some of the new additions to the Gilmore family, including rapper Bad Bunny and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Unfortunately for Kelce, though, someone on the timeline noted that he looked like he was wearing an “Oppenheimer side character fit” — a description you’ll have a hard time unseeing. 

Kelce can at least take solace in the fact that getting roasted by the internet is par for the course these days. In fact, just this week alone his fellow digital roastees included fathers learning what gifts they bought their children for Christmas, an all-time fumbler and America’s continued beef with the metric system, along with among many, many others.
