We know that’s not the real you

As we inch closer to 2025, one franchise is already sprinting full speed ahead. With Sonic the Hedgehog 3 projected to top the box office this weekend, Paramount Pictures is prepping a fourth installment of the video game adaptation for 2027. But why stop there? Ben Schwartz, who lends his voice to this iteration of the chaotic blue hedgehog, told Stephen Colbert that his hope is for 10 or 15 more Sonic movies

Meanwhile, Disney flushed a trans-inclusive storyline from its upcoming Pixar sports comedy Win or Lose. The company released a statement saying, “We recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline,” but their retraction didn’t stop an alleged storyboard of the scrapped scenes from leaking online.

For its part, the Ghostbusters franchise is likely to become a lot more animated. Despite the lukewarm reception to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Sony Animation and Netflix are said to be developing an animated Ghostbusters film with Kris Pearn attached to direct. Pearn previously worked with the streamer on The Willoughbys, which he co-directed and co-wrote based on the Lois Lowry novel. The film comes in addition to the previously announced Ghostbusters animated series that Jason Reitman has been working on since 2022.

The week, of course, also brought some great tweets along with it. The funniest included a holiday prescription, a meal you need privacy with and the Charlie Kelly section of the thrift store.
