While Red One has yet to recoup its budget during its theatrical run, it became Prime Video’s most-watched debut after being added to the streamer. Johnson’s holiday jaunt is said to have amassed 50 million worldwide viewers over its first four days of release (although the streamer is very, very vague about how it landed on that number). The previous record was held by Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake, which reached the same viewership numbers in two weeks time.

Speaking of remakes, Jamie Lee Curtis may be taking on the mantle of one of Hollywood’s most famous detectives. Multiple outlets have confirmed that the Oscar winner is Universal’s number one choice to play Angela Lansbury’s Jessica Fletcher in a Murder, She Wrote film adaptation. The potential film wouldn’t be the first whodunnit for Curtis, who starred in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out back in 2019.
