It seems Denzel Washington let the cat out of the bag prematurely.
The legendary actor, who is currently on a press tour for playing a bisexual tyrant in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel, recently revealed that Ryan Coogler wrote a part for him in a possible Black Panther film. Unfortunately, Washington forgot to consult the writer/director about sharing that news. Washington joined Variety for its Awards Circuit podcast and admitted to being loose-lipped, sharing that he “called (Coogler) and apologized for talking about the movie.” Needless to say, a third entry in the Marvel blockbuster series has yet to be officially confirmed.
Washington’s not the only Hollywood icon looking for his next big thing. With Blue Bloods finally coming to an end after nearly 300 episodes, Tom Selleck is itching to find new ways to pay for that ranch of his. The actor told Variety that he hopes somebody will “think of something different” for him and specifically mentioned that a “comedy would be nice.” Although he’s known for macho men like Magnum P.I. and Commissioner Frank Reagan, Selleck is no stranger to the comedy world with credits like Three Men and a Baby and Meet the Robinsons to his name.
