Emmy-winners Jason Sudeikis and Melissa McCarthy spent their week pushing back on their critics. While Sudeikis once again defended Ted Lasso Season Three, Melissa McCarthy fired back at nerds who said the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot “ruined” their childhood. Speaking of bad reviews, it turns out audiences aren’t the only ones who thought Joker: Folie à Deux was a total bust — a cast member came forward as well to call the movie an absolute disaster.
We also received some harrowing news out of New Jersey. Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure was once the fastest, tallest roller coaster in the world, hitting 128 mph over 456 feet in just four short seconds. But the record-breaking ride has now been shuttered after nearly 20 years of thrills, with plans for new replacements already underway. Six Flags Great Adventure President Brian Bacica addressed fans in a statement, noting that “saying goodbye to beloved rides can be difficult,” but “these changes are an important part of our growth and dedication to delivering exceptional new experiences.”
Pour one out for Kingda Ka.
The week also brought hysterical new tweets that touched on all of these topics and more. The funniest included those about a perfect man’s interests, a covert death threat and intimacy on the ice.
