46 of the Funniest Burns from the Week of November 11, 2024
Ahead of Stephen Colbert unveiling PEOPLE’s underwhelming choice of John Krasinski as this year’s Sexiest Man Alive, the publication rolled out a number of stories leading up to their annual issue. They reunited with John Legend, 2019’s Sexiest Man Alive, who offered some words of wisdom to the next title-holder and implored them to not “take it too seriously.” They also facilitated a reunion of the guys of New Girl, where they discussed the potential of the popular television show getting a reboot. Then, they released a feature with music producer and celebrity foodie Benny Blanco.
But once news of Blanco’s involvement hit the timeline, a number of people took issue with his inclusion. One Twitter user wrote that “Benny Blanco and Sexiest Man Alive should never be in the same sentence.” Another commended his girlfriend Selena Gomez’s bravery for waking up and seeing him first thing in the morning — every morning.
That said, Blanco wasn’t the only one being held over an open flame this week. Other digital burn victims included an obvious Wes Anderson fan, Zachary Levi and the state of West Virginia.
