November isn’t really that far away

First came the Space Race. Then there was the Battle of the Breakfast Pastries. Now, Americans are preparing for their next big conflict: the Cola Wars.

Back in April, Sony announced that it planned to adapt into a movie Pepsi’s bid to overtake Coca-Cola as the nation’s favorite soft drink. To borrow a phrase from Coke, it’s starting to become the real thing, too. Steven Spielberg is slated to produce through Amblin Entertainment, and Judd Apatow is jumping in the director’s chair for the first time since 2022’s The Bubble.

Meanwhile, SNL alum Darrell Hammond revealed the castmate who would make him break every time. Hammond told former-news-anchors-turned-lovers-turned-podcast-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes that Amy Poehler could make him laugh just by sitting next to him. In particular, he referenced the pair’s time playing Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa together, explaining that Poehler was always doing something “brilliant” and “surprising” that she didn’t do in dress rehearsal, increasing the likelihood of him breaking character. Hammond also dispelled rumors that Lorne Michaels disapproved of on-camera breaking because “the audience loves seeing Amy improv.”

There’s definitely a ton of breaking — and laughing — going on over on the timeline. Today’s funniest tweets include those about why your UberEats order is late, the TSA’s greatest trick and vindication for Special Agent Mulder.
