Greg Mottola has something to confess. The director, who was responsible for hit films like Superbad and Adventureland, fell victim to the Fletch curse and won’t be reuniting with Jon Hamm for a sequel. Mottola shared on Twitter that new Miramax chief Jonathan Glickman, who controls the rights to the novels, “shot down” his project after the first Hamm Fletch film lost the studio money. 

Meanwhile, Hillman College may be reopening its doors with the help of Netflix. Reports have surfaced of a potential continuation of A Different World that would air on the streamer. The possible sequel series is said to follow Whitley and Dwayne Wayne’s youngest daughters’ time at the HBCU. Such a rebirth for the Cosby Show spin-off was previously in development, but it was put on hold due to Cosby’s legal issues.
