We actually do need this

Despite multiple R-rated comedies being released over the last year, with one even breaking romcom box-office records, Vince Vaughn is convinced that Hollywood just isn’t making R-rated comedies anymore. The actor best known for his raucous roles in Old School and Wedding Crashersappeared on Hot Ones and told host Sean Evans that studio executives are “overthinking” ideas and strictly beholden to existing IP. There’s a kernel of truth to what Vaughn is saying, but it also might be a case of studios wanting to develop these kinds of movies with anyone but him.

Elsewhere, another Hollywood comedian is clocking in to work despite just about everyone begging him not to. Pauly Shore is moving full steam ahead on turning his Richard Simmons short The Court Jester into a feature-length biopic. The fitness guru disavowed the project on social media prior to his passing, but Shore is discounting that pushback. In fact, the actor told Entertainment Tonight that he knows Simmons “wanted” him to do the movie and doesn’t “even know if that was him tweeting the whole time.” The Simmons family swears that Richard wrote his own posts, and went as far as to say that he never once reached out to Shore to even wish him “good luck.”

While Shore might be under fire, the timeline certainly isn’t. Per usual, it’s just plain fire. Today’s funniest tweets include those about a fit-check ritual, a return to Four Loko and animals that don’t hang out together.
