15 Homes With the Biggest and Best Christmas Lights You Ever Did See
After a snowy commute got us all humbuggy this morning, we needed a little holiday pep in our step to snap out of it. We filled our favorite Christmas mug with coffee, ate about a half-pan of green and red Rice Krispie squares, toughed through some sharp stomach pains, then went on the hunt for the brightest Christmas lights on the Continent.
Yes, there are a ton of great parades and light shows out there, but we wanted to focus on “the little guy” displays on residential homes. Some got their neighbors inspired to light up entire streets, but they’ve all inspired us to not stress the little things (like our now soggy socks from all that damn slush) and keep our Christmas spirit alive!
The Toronto home that gives

Pat and Amatore De Sario’s impressive display on Benjamin Boake Trail in Toronto is made up of thousands of bright lights and inflatable decorations, but more importantly, it serves as a fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital. A collection box is situated out front, and from 1999 to 2025 they’ve raised over $308,000.
Baltimore’s “Miracle on 34th Street”

Residents of Baltimore’s 34th Street have transformed their homes into a dazzling displays of Christmas cheer for 78 years now (as of 2025). Homes are covered in twinkling lights, inflatable decorations, and unique displays like bicycle-themed trees.

Since 1932, each house on this now-famous little street in Southeast Portland has been adorned with very creative Christmas light displays. Each resident is responsible for their own display, so some go over the top while others prefer a subtle approach. Either way, it adds up to a bright, festival stroll.

The "Merry Swiftmas" house in Naperville, Illinois, is a local holiday display at 1228 Atlas Lane. Created by the Scott family, it features a synchronized light and Taylor Swift-themed music show. Obviously. It’s gained serious attention on TikTok, and shows now run from around 4:30pm daily.
Jeater Bend in Celebration, Florida

Homes along Jeater Bend used to do a coordinated light show and even had Santa visit a couple of nights each year, and while several of the houses still put up decorations, they sadly no longer doing the coordinated light show. Booo! Still, the best displays are from 1100 to 1108 Celebration Avenue.

At 107 Sharrotts Rd. in Staten Island, Joe DiMartino has been presenting this display since the year 2000, paying tribute to his late wife. The display and free tour raises funds to support pediatric cancer patients at Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital.

Since 2001, private homes and local museums throughout New Castle load up on wreaths, garlands, candlelight accents, and festive décor that are meant to highlight the town’s colonial architecture, cobblestone roads, and overall historic character.

Since the 1980s, the now-iconic Dyker Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn attracts thousands of visitors a year. It features 20-foot Nutcrackers, illuminated reindeer, and houses completely covered in lights. Many residents hire professional decorators and the best displays are usually found between 11th and 13th Avenues, from 83rd to 86th Street.

The Gay family’s home in LaGrangeville, New York, has held the Guinness World Record for the most lights on a residential property since 2014. That record was set with 601,736 lights, but they have since broken their own record multiple times. The 2025 display features an estimated 745,994 lights. The family uses the display to raise money for local charities like the Union Vale Fire Department.
